I'm always up for visiting or doing something different and new, and if it's interesting, capturing it on film as well. In this case it was visiting a national trust property, with my mother and her oldest friend Jill Maize. The country estate of Polesden Lacey, had been left in trust in order to preserve it for future generations, and it's historic value, I believe that it was one of the first properties donated in such a way. The day was freezing cold, and we walked around the outside, and through the gardens for a while, before retreating to the warmth of their restaurant, for a thoroughly good, local organic sausage and mash dish. After lunch, we went into the house, but I wasn't allowed to take any photographs, which is fine, but I was a bit peeved when they tried to confiscate my rather small bag in case it knocked something over.

Anyway, it was an interesting morning out, and I also got to try out my brand new canon G9 powershot, a point and shoot camera with manual controls, which is intended to be most of the way to an SLR. It was a neat piece of kit, but I had the ISO set to 400, which resulted in noisy images, and hence none made the cut. I've decided to keep it at ISO 200 and under from now on. So the images above are all shot with Fuji Provia 400 film, which I think is a fantastic medium, and so easily overlooked in this digital age.
