Sydney Harbour.
My photographs of Sydney Harbour and one of the world's most recognisable landmarks. (This page should be viewed playing Cold Chisel's, Khe Sahn).

My mate Pete and I flew to Australia to run the 2006 Canberra marathon (for which I have written a separate page, click here) we spent the first couple of days in Sydney staying at the Hilton, where my old school friend Leo Frankel works, and he set us up with an awesome room. We spent the time acclimatising and getting over the mammoth 23 hour flight via Thailand from London Heathrow. On arrival in Sydney, we took the airport and east hills line to the city centre, and nothing quite prepares you for the view as you pull into circular quay. The enourmous harbour bridge and opera house were sat there in brilliant sunlight, and we both just sat there agasp. It was a very exciting sight, and we'd arrived in Australia. Although I knew exactly what it looked like, I did not expect the size and scale that it actually was. The photo's were taken during the start of my trip and the end, particularly the sunset photo, taken on the way back from manly bay on the ferry with my friends Julia Wright and Nick Tan.

I hope to be back there one day very soon, and my photo's don't do this wonderful city and country justice...
