Sunset at Woolacoombe Bay
Watching the sun go down over Woolacoombe Bay. Saturday, August 27th 2011.

(NOTE: More pictures will be up later this week once my roll of Velvia film is developed and scanned)

I spent the August bank holiday in the same manner as I have for almost every year of my adult life, surfing on England's South West coast. I'm not talented in this pastime, but its about more than just surfing. To that end I try to make a point of visiting the beach at sunset at least once per trip to just enjoy watching the sun go down. I find them, sunsets, to be unpredictable. Usually they are gradual and fizzle and the sky gets dimmer and dimmer until just a slither of red appears on the horizon, but occasionally, once every so often the sky explodes in colours and it's just magic if you're there at that moment to see it. One of my most notable images of this is sunset at Queensland's Rainbow Beach (click here to see).
