Eleven of us went to watch the annual Babcock trophy competition at Twickenham Stadium, England. May 2007.

Every year, the Army compete against the Navy in the Babcock trophy at Twickenham stadium. This year, having seen adverts for the match all over the London Underground, I decided to organise tickets for my friends and I.

Eleven of us managed to make it (12 inc Maddie who was smuggled in); our friend Richard Booker a Doctor in the Royal Army medical corps (RAMC) was unfortunately unable to make it due to his imminent posting to Basra, as part of Operation Telic. I'd been in the Territorial Army with Richard, Patrick Tame and James Harris; Zoe Tame went to Iraq as part of the Intelligence corps in 2003, so our group was strongly supporting the army's win (which they did).

The rest of the gang, Nick Milnes, Pete Clements, Will Morris and Jackie Carson Long, were at University with me; whilst Lucy and Eve H are friends from skiing together.

If you're wondering why the stadium is empty in the photographs, it's because I made everyone arrive about 5 hours early for the main match, in time to watch the preclude match of combined services under 23's vs English universities. By the time the real match started we were in the middle tier and too far away to take photo's with my 24-70mm Lens. I had wanted to bring my 75-300 but I wasn't sure I could talk my way through the gates with multiple lenses. The camera is big enough by itself without me strapping extra pouches and lenses to myself. The film used is Ilford Delta 100, and I hope are good examples of why film is such a great and overlooked medium, and just because I have a digital body, sometimes it can't compete with Film.
